In the Stamp Design Challenge, organized by British Council Jaimini Joshi , Class X, was declared the winner and was awarded “Best Stamp” award in the “Super Stamp” category.


On 10th December, New Era Senior Secondary School had organized a variety of programmes. AVV stood first in the song competition, first in the power-point presentation on Social Forestry and also first in photo story under Videography category, thus they won the Rolling Trophy.


1. In the CBSE Heritage India Quiz, held at New Delhi, on 8th December, out of 12 schools who made it to the finals, three students of Anand Vidya Vihar, Kshitij Naithani (XII), Darshil Shastri (XI) and Preyansh Kotecha (IX), stood 3rd in the semi finals and were amongst the top ten teams. They were awarded a trophy, certificates and a cash prize.

2. The Dr. Nanubhai Amin Science and Environment Debate, final round was conducted on 10th December. The debate topic was Sustainable Chemistry —The Future’s Blue, Green and Red. Anand Vidya Vihar’s team comprising of Darshil Shastri (XI) and Aastha Purohit (X) won a consolation prize of Rs. 10,000.


Team of two students , Darshil Shastri (XI) and Aastha Purohit (X) participated in the Dr. Nanubhai Amin Debate on Chemistry and they made it to the final round. They would be appearing for the final round of the debate on 10th December 2011.


  

Two students of our school, Shivam Raval (XI) and Archit Dikshit (X) appeared in a Chemistry Quiz organized by Community Science Centre made it to the State finals. They would be appearing for the finals at Ahmedabad on 3rd December.


Students of our school participated and bagged 2nd Prize in Action Song on traffic, organised by SOCLEEN.


On 25th November, students of Anand Vidya Vihar participated in music a competition organized by Tejas Vidyalaya, ‘Battle of the Bands’, at Kamatibaug Amphitheatre. School secured second prize for their outstanding performance. As a prize they got an opportunity to air their song on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and chit chat with RJ Manan of Kitli Kulture fame, on 26th November. It was an important learning experience for the students of class X who are fond of music.


On 19th November, Bright Day School, Vasna Road, hosted the CBSE Zonal Round Heritage India Quiz, Ajmer region. Three schools, Anandalaya School, Bright Day, Vasna Road and Anand Vidya Vihar participated in the competition.. Anand Vidya Vihar stood first and has qualified for the national round to be conducted in December, in New Delhi. Three participants from AVV were Kshitij Naithani (XII), Darshil Shastri (XI) and Preyansh Kotecha (IX).


During the Heritage week celebrations in Vadodara, from 19th- 25th November, Community Science Centre had organized Heritage Quiz on 23rd November. Anand Vidya Vihar School participated in the competition. Rahul Patki, Tanvi Iyer and Sahil Trivedi, students of class VIII and Preyansh Kotecha of class IX participated and won the second position. They will be awarded trophies on 25th November at Qutubaddin Mehmud Khan Tomb at Pratapnagar. Special Prizes will be given to Rahul Patki and Tanvi Iyer for their exemplary performance by Mr. K.C. Nauriyaar, Head of Archeological Survey of India, Vadodara.


Avantika Awards

Anand Vidya Vihar hosted the Avantika Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellence Award 2011 on 25th August. Dr Anand Agarwal, Director Avantika, gave away the awards to 20 school principals of CBSE as well as Gujarat Board Schools. Mrs. Suverchala Kashyap, principal Anand Vidya Vihar and Mrs. Reshma Amin, principal Anand Balwadi, were amongst those who were given this award for their meritorious record in modern education and technology. Avantika is a group of Contemporary Artists and Intellectuals, Delhi.


Shannay Rawal has been selected in the final 96, out of 10,000 students who appeared in a talent search exam-conducted by Education Initiatives, affiliated to IIM- Ahmedabad. He is the first student from Vadodara who has received a scholarship of 1450 USD, from the prestigious Duke University. He will be joining the three- week summer studies program in Forensic Science, at the Mysore Infosys Campus.


As a part of Earth Day celebration, Community Science Centre Vadodara, under the title Vaho Vishwamitri, held a drawing competition in which three students of our school, Jaimini Joshi, Lalantika Venkatraman and Aneri Amin, secured first, second and third position respectively and were awarded cash prizes.


 

Darshil A. Shastri, of grade XI, has won the prestigious National Balshree Award, 2010, for creative writing. A voracious reader, with a penchant for writing, he has indeed made the school proud. Not one to give up easily, he curiously and diligently pushes himself beyond his limits. A complete A.V.V product, having joined the school as an extremely eager little boy in grade one, he has continuously been excelling in many fields. Way to go … congratulations.


Avantika Award

On 26th November 2010, Ms Suverchala Kashyap (Principal) and Ms. Vandana Khattar (Senior Teacher) were conferred the Dr. Radhakrishna Samman, by the director of Avantika, Dr. Anand Agarwal. Avankita a Delhi based NGO has been relentlessly working in the field of education since the last 25 years. It felicitates individuals from the field of education and students too for their contribution to society and achievements.



 
To mark the occasion of Quit India Movement, Anand Vidya Vihar hosted Inter School Street Competition, with the theme, the current scenario from the Gandhian perspective. Seven schools participated in the competition and the judges were Mr. Debal Dasgupta and Mr Virat Chandra Chaturvedi. Anand Vidya Vihar stood first, St. Kabir School stood second and Tejas School stood third.
